At BHP we support our people to grow, learn, develop their skills and reach their potential.

With a global portfolio of operations, we offer a diverse and inclusive environment with extraordinary career opportunities. Our strategy is to focus on creating a safe work environment where our employees feel strongly connected to our values and objectives, and where the capability of our people is key to our success.

Come and be a part of this success.

We believe that it is your unique skills, talents, and perspectives that will drive innovation and success within our global company. Our Graduate and Intern programs are designed to embrace creative ideas and new ambitious voices and connect them to a world of opportunity.

Our Australian graduate and intern opportunities for engineering and science will be residential or Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO), either way giving you the chance to support and live in a thriving local community. Roles such as Technology, Finance and Supply will support our operations from our city locations, but they are never far from the action.

We look for students with a range of degrees that include (but not limited) to:

  • Technology: Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Software Engineering, Mathematics
  • Business: Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics Management
  • Engineering: Mining, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mine Geotechnical, Civil, Metallurgy / Minerals Processing, Construction, Environmental
  • Health Science: Safety, Health, Occupational Hygiene, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Medical Radiation, Toxicology
  • Science: Earth Science / Geology (Honours / Masters), Hydrogeology, Environmental, Physics, Chemistry, Spatial Science (Surveying)

Interns, you will be a penultimate student and start in November 2020 working with us for 10-12 weeks. This is the time to apply all you have learnt in real life situations and use your initiative to seek out projects to showcase your capability. Do well as an intern and you will go to the front of the queue to receive a graduate job offer.

At BHP, we recognise that we are strengthened by diversity. We are committed to providing a work environment in which everyone is included, treated fairly and with respect. We are an Equal Opportunity employer and we encourage applications from women, people with a disability, and Indigenous people. If you require an adjustment to equitably participate in the recruitment process, please indicate this on your application form.

Apply now

If you are ready to make a difference, then apply now to see what is possible. Applications are open from 2 March to 3 April 2020.
